LAUREL WINTER SHELTER
The Laurel Winter Shelter (LWS) has more than 20 congregations in the Greater Laurel area who partner together to serve the homeless men and women in our area.
The LWS assists from the Sunday after Thanksgiving until early April, moving each week from congregation to congregation. The Winter Shelter provides food and shelter to over 100 men and women annually.
Last year LWS was able to serve over 5000 meals, and provided a warm, safe place for our guests to sleep. In the early 1990’s churches in the area began partnering to provide this service and it’s continued annually ever since. For a copy of the schedule, please contact LWS_Board@yahoogroups.com. Volunteers are very welcome. The Laurel Winter Shelter runs completely on donations and the precious time of volunteers.
